Description: A Child-Centered Playroom is a container for all emotions, including anger, sadness, shyness, jealousy, & control, but it may not always be clear how a therapist should handle these emotions utilizing the tenants of Child-Centered Play Therapy. During this 3-hour workshop, participants can expect a beginner-level look into some complex and challenging situations you may one day face in your play therapy room and how to handle them keeping unconditional positive regard at the forefront of your sessions.
Objectives:
1. Analyze challenging situations in a play therapy session and determine an appropriate intervention.
2. Demonstrate effective use of unconditional positive regard when a child is having difficult behaviors during a play session.
3.Demonstrate effective use of A-C-T limit setting Model during Child-Centered Play Therapy
