Convenient, Compassionate Therapy & Therapeutic Evaluation in St. Louis

Bud to Bloom Therapy offers a thoughtful and kind approach to therapeutic evaluation for children and teens. Whether you’ve been referred by your own child or family therapist, your child’s school, or another source - we’re here to help you gain insight.

What to Expect

When you bring your child in for an assessment at Bud to Bloom, you can expect a thorough, compassionate, and supportive process designed to understand and address your child’s unique needs.

Assessments typically consist of 1-2 interview sessions, where we gather information about your child’s history, behavior, and any other concerns you may have. We then invite you in for a “feedback session,” where we review insight from your child’s assessment with you.

We can help with

  • Gaining insight to enhance therapy, including developmental trauma treatment

  • Creating an understanding of how trauma has impacted your child’s development, so you can have clear expectations of them and tools to use at home

  • Informing and improving your family’s therapy experience by identifying strengths and areas of growth in your relationships

  • Trauma Assessments

We understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate your child’s trauma. Our trauma assessments are designed to provide a clear, compassionate understanding of your child’s experiences and their impact. Through two in-office sessions and a detailed feedback session, we identify specific needs and create a tailored support plan. This comprehensive approach not only helps address immediate concerns but also lays a strong foundation for your child’s future emotional and psychological resilience. Our goal is to empower your family with the tools and insights needed for lasting healing and growth.

Our approach aims to foster stronger, healthier connections within your family, ensuring that both you and your child feel supported and understood.

Brain Mapping Assessments & Early Childhood Trauma

Let’s help map a brighter future for your child.

  • Trauma in early childhood (age 0-5) has an impact on brain development, since the brain is growing and changing quickly during this age.

  • Different parts of the brain are in charge of different things - for example, the part of our brains just behind our forehead is called the prefrontal cortex and helps regulate our emotions.

  • Through a brain mapping assessment, we can learn more about what areas of your child’s brain are affected by past experiences.

  • This lets us create a more individual treatment plan that supports future brain development.

Brain mapping assessments are based on the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. If you were told to seek an “NMT Assessment,” you’re in the right place!
