As a play therapist it is important to be grounded in theory as a foundation for treatment for children and families. This training will explore the seminal and historically significant play therapy theories including; adlerian play therapy, Theraplay, Child Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy and many more! We will even cover prescriptive and transtheoretical play therapy. We will introduce into the history and practical applications of each surrounding each theory. This training will also explore core theories of play therapy including sand tray, narrative play therapy and games. You will gain insight into each theory to help direct your practice as a clinician to theory and techniques that align with you. This training will give you information and also provide space to reflect on the theories and approaches that best fit you as a play therapist.
